Funded by UKRI, AI Mapper (PI: Professor Youngjun Cho) is a research project where we harness the power of generative AI and real-time data from public transport authorities to revolutionise accessible journey planning for disabled individuals.
Our AI Mapper will offer not only novel solutions fully utilising natural language understandings, but also more accessible, disabled-user-friendly interfaces through human-centred approaches.
We will co-create AI Mapper’s user interface through identifying user needs and developing design insights with stakeholders. In parallel, its backend engine will be developed to enable multiple transformer-based language models which will efficiently process a large amount of complex real-time data on various disruption factors and perform sophisticated decision making for a more accessible and comfortable journey.
